NSEG has formed Women in Engineering Geology (WEG) Committee and its work include various initiatives to support and promote the participation of women in engineering geology in Nepal. Major activities and objectives of WEG committee include:
- Networking and Mentoring: Facilitating networking opportunities for women in engineering geology in Nepal to connect with peers, mentors, and role models within the field.
- Professional Development: Providing resources and support for the professional development of women in engineering geology in Nepal, including access to training, workshops, and conferences coordinating NSEG as well as IAEG WEG committee.
- Awareness and Advocacy: Promoting awareness of the challenges and opportunities faced by women in the engineering geology field, and advocating for policies that foster inclusivity and equal opportunities in the jobs.
- Education and Outreach: To support NSEG for engaging in educational outreach to encourage more women to pursue careers in engineering geology, providing information and resources to students and early-career professionals.
- Recognition: To support NSEG for recognizing and celebrating the achievements of women in engineering geology of Nepal through awards, publications, and other forms of acknowledgment.
- Research and Publications: Encouraging and supporting research on gender-related issues in the field of engineering geology, as well as promoting the publication of relevant findings.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with IAEG WEG committees, women groups of other organizations, and stakeholders to collectively advance the goals of diversity and inclusion in the geosciences.
