The NSEG Engineering Geology PhD Award
What is it?
The Nepalese Society of Engineering Geologists (NSEG) is celebrating its 5th year anniversary this year. On the occasion of the anniversary, it established the “NSEG Engineering Geology PhD Award” by this year. The Award stands as a prestigious award planned to promote excellence in the fields of engineering geology, geology, and geotechnical engineering. This award is specifically aimed at individuals Nepali Citizen who have successfully completed their PhD degree in Engineering Geology related topics from any university. The recipient of this award will not only receive a certificate of recognition but also a Gold Medal. Additionally, the awardee will have the opportunity to become a member of the International Association for Engineering Geology (IAEG) and the Environment through NSEG. NSEG will also cover the membership fees of IAEG for the duration of the 3 years. All the awardee will be invited in NSEG lecture series also to disseminate their findings.
Who is eligible?
Eligible candidates should hold a PhD Degree in engineering geology or geology or geotechnical engineering (specialization engineering geology related topics) and should possess less than 2 years of PhD degree completion as of the submission deadline. This award will be given to all the applicants who meet the criteria. The application will be evaluated by the award committee of NSEG.

All applications must be submitted by 5 PM on October 4, 2023, via email to [email protected].
How to apply?
To apply, complete the provided application form and include a 3-page abstract that can contain both text and figures. Recent graduates with PhD degrees in Engineering Geology, Geology, or Geotechnical Engineering are encouraged to apply for this prestigious award. It is essential that the applicant’s thesis primarily revolves around the theme of Engineering Geology only.
The successful candidates will be informed by October 9, 2023 and they must presence in the Award Ceremony on the occasion of 1st National Engineering Geology Day in Kathmandu on October 11, 2023. The 1st Annual NSEG Thesis Award
What is it?
The Nepalese Society of Engineering Geologists (NSEG) is celebrating its 5th year anniversary this year. On the occasion of the anniversary, it established the “Annual NSEG Thesis Award” by this year. The Award stands as a prestigious award planned to promote excellence in the fields of engineering geology, geology, and geotechnical engineering. This award is specifically aimed at individuals who have successfully completed their MSc Thesis in Engineering Geology related topics from the universities of Nepal. The recipient of this award will not only receive a certificate of recognition but also a substantial prize of NRs. 25,000. Additionally, the awardee will have the opportunity to become a member of the Young Engineering Geologist Group (YEG) within the International Association for Engineering Geology (IAEG) and the Environment through YEG group affiliation with NSEG. NSEG will also cover the membership fees of IAEG for the duration of the 3 years.
Who is eligible?
Eligible candidates should hold an MSc degree in engineering geology or geology or geotechnical engineering and should possess less than 2 years of post-graduate experience as of the submission deadline. One Male candidate and One Female candidate will be selected for the award and the application will be evaluated by the award selection committee of NSEG.
